in Local Open-Mic Competition

Dear Potential Humor-Seekers:
After much hemming, hawing, and the performance of dizzying feats of procrastination, I have resolved to pursue the stand-up comedy again after a long hiatus.
Thus, it is with some trepidation that I announce my formal entry into the open-mic competition at Magooby's Joke House in Timonium, MD. I will be performing on the evening of Thursday, September 22, 2011. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Show starts at 8:00. Featured headliner will be Paul Bond. Feel free to disseminate word all over this land and to invite all and sundry.
